Kelly to Coach Notre Dame

It has been reported that Bearcats’ Coach Brian Kelly will be making the move from Cincy to South Bend. Kelly led his team to an undefeated mark and a second straight BCS game after winning back-to-back Big East titles.

Irish eyes are smiling, but for how long. With the firing of Charlie Weis, star quarterback Jimmy Clausen and stud wideout Golden Tate did not wait long to declare for the NFL Draft. With the two best offensive threats leaving Notre Dame, and his inheriting of a poor defense, Kelly will have his work cut out for him. And if he doesn’t produce in his first few seasons, will the Irish be quick to kick him to the curb like they did to Weis? The name Kelly sounds Irish to me, and being a Notre Dame fan, I’m hoping he will bring the luck of the Irish with him.
