Final 4

First things first, some awards were handed out yesterday and need to be recognized.

Evan “TURNER overdrive”

Ohio State’s Even Turner was voted Associated Press’ college basketball player of the year in a landslide victory.  The 6’7″ junior looks destined to make the leap to the NBA now after receiving 54 out of 65 votes.

Boeheim aCUSE’d of being best coach

After a 30-5 season and rising to the #1 ranked team in the country, Jim Boeheim has been named the AP coach of the year. The Orange had the best record in the deep Big East conference and made it to the Sweet 16 in the tournament. They lost their top three scorers from last season, but Boeheim still led them to a tremendous season.

Final 4

Indianapolis will be the sight of this year’s Final 4, matching Duke against West Virginia and an unlikely game between Michigan State and Butler.

West Virginia will prove to be too athletic for Duke, and will take down the Blue Devils. Bob Huggins may be the worst dressed coach in America, but his team is dressed for success on the court, and will head to the national championship.

Cinderella will finally lose her glass slipper, and the tremendous run will end for Butler. Everyone has been talking about Butler’s homecourt advantage with their school being so close, but that won’t phase Michigan State who plays in front of big crowds on the road all year long in the Big 10. Michigan St wins this game and heads back to the finals for the second consecutive year.

National Championship
