One of the most played highlights from Saturday’s Dunk Contest has been Serge Ibaka’s free-throw line slam. His takeoff was noticeably further than any of the previous dunkers who performed it, but he was only given a 45. He had the whole dog and pony show with the ladies carrying out with NBA Africa flags and he wore easily the best shoes of anyone who’s done the dunk. So why the low score?

Ibaka and the Thunder are not getting the credit they deserve this year. If they want that respect and if Ibaka wants to acquire that Chewbacca street cred, the Thunder will have to make a run in the playoffs this year. Chewy (Ibaka) was unable to knock off the favorite (Griffin), but the Thunder still have the opportunity to dethrone some of the perennial Western Conference powers.
