Boone-shakalaka

After 12 seasons in the big leagues, Aaron Boone has retired. Yankee fans will never forget the heroics of Boone in the 2003 ALCS against the hated Red Sox. In game 7 Boone came to the plate in the bottom of the 11th against against Tim Wakefield and hit a game winning  walk off home run to send the Yanks to the World Series.

Boone tried to return to baseball after open-heart surgery last year, but he was not the same. Boone was just a .263 career batter, but he will always be remembered by Red Sox Nation as Aaron “Bleeping” Boone.

His playing career may be over, but Boone will remain around the game as he becomes a baseball analyst for ESPN.
